Holden's First Baseball Game!

Uncle Tyler B had a scrimmage at home this past week and Mommy took Holden to his very first baseball game! Unfortunately, Mommy doesn't think Holden is a true baseball fan yet. I think we lasted less than an hour. But at least we got to see Uncle Tyler B get a hit! Maybe Holden will like it when it gets a little warmer out and he doesn't have to be so bundled up. He likes to feel free :)

Daddy and Uncle Corey's Birthday Party

Since Daddy and Uncle Corey have birthdays only 2 weeks apart, Mommy and Aunt Megan decided to throw them a birthday party together this year. And since they were both so into the new Batman movie this past Christmas, we thought it would be funny to have a Batman party. And we were right.

Holden's first trip to the Wilderness Center!

On St. Patrick's Day, Mommy and Holden went to the Wilderness Center with Aunt Megan, Uncle Corey, and Josslyn. It was an absolutely beautiful day and we had so much fun - aside from accidentally getting on the wrong, treacherous, and seemingly never-ending Pioneer Trail. yikes. avoid it at all costs. But after we finally got back from that, we all had a picnic under the pavilion and then Holden and Mommy watched Josslyn and her mommy and daddy feed the geese and fish. It was beautiful out and we all had a wonderful time. Next time, maybe we can go on a day Daddy can to, too. Holden loved hiking all around outside. He even took a little nap while Mommy was hiking!

Holden's New Mobile!

Holden's new Turtle and Circle Mobile!

Another View

Holden watching his new mobile

So... Mommy was feeling crafty and saw this wonderful idea on a friend's facebook page. She made Holden his own brand new mobile with circles and turtles on it to go with his new turtle bedding! Holden loves to lay in his crib and look at his new mobile. And Mommy had lots of fun making it, too!

Holden adores Josslyn

Aunt Megan and Cousin Josslyn arrived back home a few days ago for their visit - Uncle Corey will be here in a couple days - and Mommy and Holden have been spending so much time visiting them, already! And one thing is absolutely sure: Holden loves Josslyn. :) He is so entertained by her toys and all her songs and just watching her play and giggle and talk. And she is so good with him. (She must be getting in all her practice for when she gets to be a big sister soon!!) They are so cute together and we are having so much fun every day playing with them.

So Many Fun New Faces!

yesterday Mommy's friend Meredith came to visit us. She got to see Holden for the first time and he was such a good boy! He loved being held by Meredith :)

And also yesterday, Holden's aunt Megan and cousin Josslyn got back into town for a visit! Holden had so much fun last night watching Jossy play with all her Barbies and Beanie Babies. He was completely enamored with her and all her little songs and toys. We can't wait to spend lots and lots of time with them! :)

Holden's Camo Shirt!

Daddy's got one, too! silly boys...

Holden turned 3 months old on Feb. 24 and I feel like ever since then he has just taken off.

He was beginning to reach in the same direction as things before, but now he is very good at getting his hand right to whatever is held in front of him. And he seems to be predominantly using his left hand so far, so i guess we'll see!

For a while now he has only wanted to be held upright, but now you better not even try to hold him like a "baby." haha. he wants to be sitting up, standing, flying like an airplane, or perched facing out on a hip. He is always so interested and alert. He hates it when he can hear something going on but can't see it. He already doesn't want to miss anything!

He has been talking/squealing/happy screeching more than ever now, too. He is really finding his voice and I keep thinking it is just a matter of days until we hear the first real giggles. Sometimes it sounds like he is laughing, but it's not consistent enough for me to really believe he knows what he's doing quite yet. :)

And two evenings ago, I put him down for a nap on his belly and later went in to find him rolled over and cooing to himself on his back! At first I thought maybe Daddy had helped him or put him on his side to make it easier for him, but yesterday when we were playing on the floor on his tummy he rolled over again right in front of Mommy! so much for tummy time, I guess. haha...

Overall, he is doing wonderful so far and every day is such a fun and wonderful discovery for us!

Tummy Time!

Happy 3 Month Birthday!

Happy Birthday, Holden! 3 Months already!

And we have been doing so very well.

Holden is (almost always. haha.) a very happy boy! he loves talking and singing and he is so easy to get a smile out of. when we went to church yesterday he even smiled at all the ladies who talked to him. such a little flirt already :)

Holden had his first set of shots a few weeks ago. boy was that awful. he did very good in the doctor's office, but that whole night his little legs were so sore. Mommy was crying right along with him. Luckily, it's over with now for a bit, so we won't think about it again until we have to.

And Daddy had a really bad cold a couple weeks ago, but thankfully Mommy and Holden never did catch it.

Holden is also slowly beginning to reach for things now. He has grabbed ahold of some toys held out to him and he always holds onto Mommy and Daddy. He even reached out and grabbed ahold of one of the toys hanging off his floor gym thing the other night!

All in all, things are going very well! now we just need to get him to sleep a few more hours in a row at night and we will be all set! hehe...

2 1/2 Months Old

i feel like time is flying!

Holden is already about 2 1/2 months old and i can hardly believe how big he is getting! we even went to the grocery store the other day - all by ourselves - for the first time (daddy was working) and he did great. he loves his baby carrier and he just chewed on his fist and watched everything!

i think every parent i have ever talked to has always told me how fast they grow, but it is just amazing to be with him every day and get to see him growing and changing.

and he is such a happy and pleasant baby. we are very blessed. he is so easy to entertain and make smile. he loves singing and when we play the pat-a-cake game. (mommy claps his hands for him and he just smiles away) he also loves loves bath time and i think mommy and daddy end up just about as wet as Holden every time becuase he gets so excited and kicks and splashes all over!

he also loves his swing and is usually very content to sit in his bouncy chair and watch mommy while she does some stuff around the house.

and he sleeps wonderfully and has put himself on a very regular napping schedule!

and in just a few weeks his cousin josslyn will be back for a visit and we are so excited we can hardly stand it!

i am a very happy momma :)

Six Weeks Update!

Now that the holidays are officially over, everything is starting to finally settle into a normal routine.

Holden is already growing and changing so much! He now holds his head up like an old pro whenever he's looking over the shoulder of someone holding him. I feel like he's been trying to do this practically from day one, but now he definitely has it down. He also practices his talking all the time now with his little "oohs" and "aahs" - which absolutely melt my heart every time I hear them. And when I talk to him and smile, he smiles back at me all the time. He is completely wonderful and it amazes me every day how much love I have for him.

I even told Daddy today that I think Holden is magic: every time I look at him I just feel happier :)

Holden loves to have his toesies played with and gets super squirmy whenever his belly is rubbed - I have a sneaking suspicion he is extremely ticklish and just has not learned to smile/giggle as a response yet :) He is a wonderful eater and even does very good sleeping at night time - we still wake up about every 3-4 hours, but he always eats very good and falls right back to sleep. And Daddy and I have been very very lucky because Holden in no way could be classified as a colicky baby. We have certainly been blessed.

And I must say that I feel like the luckiest mom in the world. Not only am I blessed with a beautiful and healthy son, but my wonderful husband is also supporting us so I am currently able to stay at home with Holden and not have to leave him and go to job every day. How lucky I am!
