Three Blind Mice!

Well... it was raining.

And it was like 40 degrees.

And it seemed like almost no one was even participating this year.

But WE did.

Yesterday afternoon, I dressed the boys up (in the warm costumes I have been working on making them for almost two months), Jared pulled the wagon, Mimi helped hold the umbrellas, and we were all off on a Trick or Treat adventure!

It was... not my favorite experience. (Know that kind of damp cold when it sinks into your bones? While blowing in your face and making your hair dripping wet?... Yea....)

BUT. Even sans naps, no one cried, no one complained (but me), the boys got way more candy than anyone needs, and we got to make a memory.

And when we were finished, Mom fed us all a delicious warm dinner. ♥

 Gettin' all suited up

 The Big Brothers!

 Mouse One - Holden

 Mouse Two - Bridger

 Mouse Three - Graham

And all together now! The most adorable Three Blind Mice I ever did see ♥

...and like 30 seconds later.  No more smiling, glasses coming off, finger up the nose... it's life.

Dancing with the singing skeleton before we left. Graham LOVES this thing. Silly boys.

 And one with the Momma

Wagon ride around town in the sprinkling rain all in the name of tradition? Why yes, yes we will.

Daddy was a TROOPER.

La la la!  As Holden said, "Happy Trick or Treat!"

Even cold and damp, they're pretty adorable.

Zonin' out toward the end...

And warmin' back up with a mug of hot chocolate from Mimi :)

Hayride!!

This past weekend, my mom's church had an evening of socializing/fellowship... and we tagged along!

We all had dinner together (chicken barbecue.. mmm...) and then loaded up and went for a hayride!  The weather ended up just perfect - not too cold and the rain held off... I mean, what more can you ask for in Ohio? :)

And it was really fun! We got to go on the back roads, through a bumpy field, and even see some cows, sheep, and elk! The boys did so great. Really. And they all had such a good time.

Thank you, Mimi & Pap Pap, for inviting us to go with you!♥

Checking out the tractor and wagon after dinner!

Lucky little boys... even got to sit inside!

  Tag Along Graham.♥

 They were really excited

 Ready! :)

(Can you hear Graham whining here? He wanted back in so bad...)

 "Hi!"

                             Here he comes!

All loaded up and ready to go!

 And we're off!

  Checking out the elk!

I think the coolest part was when we got to hear them "talk" to each other.

 Peeking

Graham liked them too, I think. He was so quiet most of the time! Just soaking it all in.....

And right before we left THIS guy came down from the hill. To check us out... or maybe just show off.
The (seemingly) lone male.
The rock star.

♫ "Where.... the boys are!..." ♫

Sometimes... the Big Brothers aren't so keen on the Littlest Brother playing with them. (Life, huh?)

And sometimes they try to move the "fun", take it away, or make it hard to reach.

But this morning, I had to chuckle. I turned around and this is what I saw.

Look out Big Brothers... Little Graham is getting trickier than you think.... (And look out, Mom, right? *sigh*)

Sometimes ya just gotta go where the fun is. :)

Pretty proud of himself, I'd say.

He can get up there... but he still just wants to chew on the stuff.

"Arrrrrg! These Legos don't stand a chance against me! Nom, nom, nom....!"

♥      ♥     ♥

Oh hey. PS? Guess who also decided to climb up on to the back of my chair and check things out, as I was working on this post....

Monkey.

Welcome, Autumn.

Autumn is here.

And today was absolutely beautiful.

So the boys and I went for a walk on the old RR Trail this morning.

The breeze was warm, the leaves on the trees were glowing through the sunshine and crunching under our feet. We saw wooly caterpillars and a field of cows, and even saw some horse back riders - which absolutely made Bridger's day. :)

It was just perfect.

 The Boys

And, because walking can be so tiring - even when one seems to have limitless energy at home... Holden got a lift at the end :)

Still A Baby

Sometimes life is hard. And with a 1,2, and 3 year old... sometimes it's very hard.

And every drop of patience is tried, used, devoured.

But sometimes... well, sometimes you're given little gifts amidst all the chaos.

And I try to savor them.

He's still my baby.♥

Wild Boys

This was a few nights ago now. Just after bath time.

See how we relax and get ready for bed around here?

I live in a wild house.
